Ok…. It took me over 10 hours to complete the assemblage by myself but I LOVE the desk and it’s very sturdy and heavy. The physical labor was tough for an old woman but I am super happy with my desk and how it fits my space. Looks very nice!I purchased the antique white. I had already ripped the box open and started to assemble when I realized in the light that the color has a lot of yellow in it. The picture in the ad is exactly why I bought this color. Def looked more of a whitewash color. Can’t exchange now that it’s built. It is a great desk though and fairly simple to assembleSturdy and value for money. Company cares for each details minutely. Good assembly guide3 hour assemblySo bottom line up front:1. Obviously for the price this is not hardwood furniture so I'm not sure what people were expecting2. Lengthy instructions and lots of effort required to build are GOOD things when it comes to this type of furniture3. This thing looks and feels like a lot more than $200The reasons why I docked a star:1. The box arrived so beat up I almost didn't want to open it. The pieces were easily visible through large holes in the box (see pictures) and I thought some of the slimmer pieces may have been missing just looking at it.2. There was 2 holes that were not drilled in one of the pieces that needed to be there. I came to the conclusion that there was enough support without it (one of the maybe 6 supports for the shelf bottom of the cabinet) and opted out of drilling it myself and risking damaging the material. So here's the overall review. I thought looking at the box that this thing would be scuffed up and dented but it was not. The packaging could be better but the weight of the box obviously contributed to the handling. It is insanely heavy! When I finally got all the pieces out and put aside, I was expecting at least a 5 hour build after reading the reviews. The hardware is top notch with the exception of the circle locks which are made of the typical pot metal and prone to stripping; these things don't need to be wrenched on so be easy on them and it should be ok. You can tell the quality of the hardware is top notch just by looking at the detail of how it is packaged and labeled. I've built tons of this type of furniture, and usually they use maybe 3 types of screws and make it work for every purpose; not this piece. There were maybe 12 different bags, and they even bagged an individual foam sticker as a bumpguard for the cabinet door. The instructions are not difficult to read at all, and as long as you go sparingly on the glue you will have plenty. If you run out, just use Elmer's glue. It works just the same as wood glue (the stuff that comes with this kit is just Elmer's glue though). The piece is very sturdy and as you can see I've loaded it up way beyond the advised amount and while there is a very slight bow under the weight it is holding up great. I plan on getting a few dowels to put in front of the 3 slats on the bottom tier to help with the extra weight but it almost seems like it won't need it. Beware the hysterical reviews by people that don't have the patience or appropriate expectations for this product; it's great. Also, it took me 6 hours to build (by myself) with just a screwdriver and hammer-- I also stopped to cook some steaks and kale, eat dinner, and took a few breaks. Probably could have done it in 3 had I not made the meal shown. Happy building.Excellent customer service on delivery and instructions on assembly. My 10 year old granddaughter is so happy. This is the desk she will have for many years.everything I expected. I had a piece come damaged and was replaced promptly. I had a friend put it together and add glue to several areas for my own peace of mind—high-quality compressed wood.UPDATE #2 on 7/15/19: And here I am yet one more time. It's now 2019 and the desk is six years old. I've moved AGAIN since the last update. Still love it. Still looks great, as sturdy as the day it was assembled despite two moves. I can't say enough good about this desk. Seriously. Obviously, since I am still reviewing and recommending it. =)UPDATE 12/15/16: Here I am, three+ years later and still deliriously happy with the desk. I work at home full-time, so the desk takes a lot of use. It's just as sturdy and solid as it was the day it was first assembled. A little dustier and with a few minor water spots, but I am still very, very happy with it.I can't express how impressed I am with this desk. I recently moved into a new home and my old Steelcase desk was too big and too heavy to move. I wanted something a bit more compact and frankly, that looked nicer. My requirements were fairly simple - at least one drawer, a hutch, and a keyboard tray. After looking at many desks online and reading reviews, I selected this one. The finish was a bit darker than I had wanted, but otherwise it sounded fine.I admit that my expectations were pretty low. I'd purchased computer desks before and was sadly disappointed by the crappy quality of the packaging and the components themselves. Well boy howdy, NOT THIS DESK.It arrived in a flat pack. I have NO idea how the delivery person got the package from the truck to my porch alone, because it's heeeeeavy. My husband and teen son had to open the box and get the pieces upstairs a few at a time. One corner of the box was a bit crushed, so I was expecting a bit of internal damage, but was pleasantly surprised to find that each piece was fitted carefully and protected by foam. Every single piece was perfect. Not a single scratch anywhere. The next step was to get organized and lay all the pieces out. Each piece was clearly marked by a part number on an easy-removable sticker. The screws and bolts were separated into individual bags and marked with the part numbers. They even thoughtfully provide a little tube of wood glue (which I didn't end up using, favoring hubby's heavy-duty wood glue instead). The directions were clearly written and illustrated. And unbelievably, every single piece lined up perfectly. I assembled the desk myself over a period of two days, in a total of about six hours. I needed some help to move the desk and hutch (separately) into place and attach them, but that was about it.I've been using the desk for about two weeks now and couldn't be happier. It's nice and sturdy, and looks great. It's a good combination of style and function that works well in my home office. My only complaint, if I had to make one, is that the manufacturer doesn't offer this desk in another color. The dark wood finish (not quite black, but the next closest thing) is a dust magnet. i just keep a microfiber cloth in the drawer and give it a quick dust every couple of days. All in all, a great product. I am VERY happy with it all around. Packaging, looks, assembly, and function. All for a very reasonable price. We bought this desk for my husband’s computer. It fits perfectly into the corner. I love the look. It is larger than the previous desk that was there but it actually makes the room look larger. The instructions that came with it made it very easy to put together. It is a two person build though so be aware of that.I got this for my 12 yr old son..its a very lovely piece and visual appealing ...my son loves it....we choose to leave out the particle board to back of the computer section below so the computer doesnt over heat.
